It's not about "right to life", it's not about "pro choice", it's about privacy.

On Monday, with the stroke of a pen, the Governor of South Dakota effectively outlawed abortion in his state. And struck another blow to dismantle the U.S. Constitution and our rights as citizens.

Why is it that the government feels it has the right to poke their nose into our bedrooms? Our families? Our bodies? Our thoughts? When was it that the American people abdicated their right to privacy? I don't remember voting on it. I don't remember there being any referendum on it. When exactly did the Constitution and the Bill of Rights cease to exist?

I've heard conservatives argue the point in the past that they are for individual rights, and liberals are for "group" rights. Well in the final analysis, attacks on the right to privacy don't make the distinction between Republican or Democrat, individual or group. It goes to the very core of the principles this country was founded upon. And those conservatives, those Republicans who would support this ridiculous South Dakota law, are once again whittling away at their own freedoms.

Someday, some conservative is going to start to say to me, "but I have the right...". And I'm going to cut him off by saying, "No you don't. Remember, you guys took those away."

J0kerr...

A bigot? Hardly. I, unlike many of my brethren on the right, am a tolerant individual. I do not treat people differently based on their race, their religion, their appearance, or even their political point of view. And I believe everyone certainly is entitled to their opinion, you and I included.

My tolerance fades however, in light of those who would preach hate, in light of those who would endeavor to force their ideology and morality and religion upon others, in light of those who, themselves, are intolerant. And I have NO tolerance for those who would claim to send men and women to a foreign land to fight and die "defending our freedoms", while simultaneously trying to quell free speech and liberty here at home. Hypocrisy will see the light of day.

I respect Republicans. I even love some of them. But I really do have no patience for those who would pervert the noble party of Lincoln to their own political, financial, and philosophical ends. They can form their own party, The fascist party.

As always, you are welcome to express your opinions. And I will continue to say what needs to be said, to fight the good fight, to live, and if necessary, to die defending that right for both of us. Would you do the same for me, I wonder?

So, if you would like to truly debate what has, and what is going on in this country, I say, in the immortal words of dubya, "bring it on."

Oh, BTW... the word is rational, not "reasonal". Spell check is a wonderful thing.

J0kerr said... <> but what you consider fascist usually is just you labelling someone who disagrees with you. Your preaching hate is someone who gives facts that you don't like. That is why you sir are a bigot.

No, I have a very specific definition of fascist...

"A political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition."

And as for preaching hate, I'm referring to the likes of "Reverend" Phelps, Jerry Fallwell, Pat Robertson, the KKK and their ilk, to name a few. People who are intolerant of others who don't think like they do, don't live like they do, don't look like they do. That's preaching hate, that's bigotry. If you consider the venom that comes spewing out of the mouths of these types "facts", then you truly have my pity.

I have always, and will continue to tolerate, and promote discussion with, those who don't agree with me as well as those who do.

And as for you repeatedly calling me a bigot... Well, I pretty much summed it up in the description of my blog. You, like so many on the right, seem to think that if you repeat the same lie over and over, people will think it's the truth. You calling me a bigot again and again doesn't make it true. It simply demonstrates that you would rather call people names than take part in a rational debate of the facts. You know it, I know it, and everyone else reading it knows it.

Deal with it.

Yeah OK j0kerr (great name there buddy - bet it took you hours to think that one up...) - so let me get this straight - first you say 'Your opinion is your opinion' then you go on to attack his opinion - yeah ok how typical of your ilk.

Then you say: "Freedom to life for the unborn baby...I beleive freedom to life is somewhere that it is protected."

Oh and excuse me, exactly WHAT constitution are YOU reading??? It does not say that anywhere in OUR constitution and if we are going to start making laws to protect people who haven't even been born yet we are in real trouble....

So let me get this straight you think that a MAN should get to decide what *I should be allowed to do to MY body...

Um OK - Here give me your penis for a minute *takes out hammer and smashes it* - now I am going to ask you to use something you probably never use (your brain and your imagination) let's 'pretend' for a second that *I'm* the president - now because *I* said so and I hold the key to all freedoms (including those governing YOUR right to medical care), YOU can't get your penis fixed....how's that sound to you? Cause that's pretty much what you are saying to me - here's a clue for you - it's MY body j0kerr - and what a j0kerr you must be to think that for even a nanosecond you have any control or say so over MY body - not in your lifetime my dear...

You sir are the bigot - you don't get to decide what *I* do in the privacy of my doctor's office - you don't get to decide that if I've been molested, raped, a victim of incest and don't want to have the baby that I can't choose to terminate MT pregnancy (it's not YOUR pregnancy it's MINE) - you sir are taking away *MY* freedom when you make decisions like that - you have no right to shove your bigoted, condescending, right-wing agenda down my throat, into my brain - nor do you have the right to invade the sanctity of *MY* womb - that is between ME, my LOVER, my DOCTOR and My GODDESS - NOT YOU - you don't like abortion? Get a vasectomy!

Here's a scenario for you - let's say your daughter/sister/wife/mother has just been gang raped by a bunch of black men (cause I am going to go out on a real limb here and assume you are a white-christian-male) - you gonna make your loved one carry that fetus to term?? Here's another one - let's say your almighty god of a president G.W.'s daughters get raped (same deal) do you HONESTLY think he's not going to allow them to have abortions???? Think again Mr. j0kerr....I mean really - just how much of a simpleton are you? The current adminstration are a bunch of hypocrites, j0kerr they no more care for you or your religious values as they do for me and mine - it's just that you are apparently fool enough to believe the crap they are trying to sell you - kind of like used bible salesmen....

I'll bet you believe in the death penalty too, don't you - well that makes YOU a murderer by your same yardstick - or is it all about the timing with people like you?

You can't force a 'Christian' concept on non-christians or people who don't share your moral convictions - and besides there IS suppose to be a separation of Church and State (oh and by the way if you bother to read that IS in our constitution) - tell you what j0kerr, you keep your laws off of MY body and we will make sure you are allowed to worship YOUR god in freedom....cause if you start taking away my personal freedoms - all hell is going to break loose in this country, I guranfuckintee it - it's going to make that j0kerr head of yours spin clean off....
